Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with the SugaTone application and this website. In this policy, "SugaTone", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the SugaTone application, website and related services operated by Salami Abiodun Akorede, based in Manitoba, Canada.

SugaTone is a general wellness, informational and self-tracking product. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

SugaTone is intended for users aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

2. Account information

To create and use an account, SugaTone requires:

• Your email address
• Authentication credentials, which are handled by the authentication system used by the service

The platform also generates technical identifiers associated with your account:

• A user identifier
• Authentication identifiers
• An account role used by the service

SugaTone does not ask for your date of birth, separate first and last names, a username, or a profile photograph.

3. Profile information

You may optionally provide profile information to personalise the app. This can include:

• Age (entered as a number, not a date of birth)
• Gender
• Height and weight
• Diabetes status
• Medications
• Health goals and target weight
• Target fasting schedule
• Current diet
• Activity level and typical sleep hours
• Whether you measure ketones and whether you use a CGM
• Measurement and unit preferences, and related personalisation settings

Some of this profile information is sensitive health and wellness information. Providing it is optional.

4. Health and wellness information you record

SugaTone is designed around information you choose to enter. This includes:

• Glucose readings
• Ketone readings
• Fasting information
• Meals and nutrition entries
• Exercise and activity entries
• Sleep entries
• Weight entries
• Hydration entries

You may also enter free text, including notes attached to certain health records, medication information, your current diet, health goals, and meal names or descriptions.

SugaTone does not currently collect step counts, and it does not collect symptoms as a dedicated category.

5. Automatic health data import

SugaTone does not currently connect to Android Health Connect, Google Fit, Apple Health, Garmin, Fitbit or any other wearable or sensor integration. It does not automatically collect steps, exercise or sensor-based health information. All health and wellness information in SugaTone is information you enter yourself.

6. Information calculated from your data

SugaTone calculates additional information from what you record, in order to show you trends and analytics. This can include your Glucose–Ketone Index (GKI), glucose and ketone trends, fasting analytics, relationships between fasting, meals, exercise and sleep, and supporting measures such as Evidence Strength, Independent Occasions and Data Quality.

Most of these calculations are produced by ordinary application logic rather than by artificial intelligence.

7. AI-generated insights

SugaTone includes AI-generated personalised insights. When an insight is generated, the request is made from SugaTone's backend through the AI integration provided by our platform provider, Base44. The underlying AI model and provider are managed by Base44 and are not identified to us, so we do not name a specific model or provider here, and we do not make claims about how any underlying provider retains or uses the request.

The information sent for an AI insight is limited to:

• Your profile information
• Pre-computed summary statistics about your metabolic and lifestyle data

Individual raw readings — such as single glucose, ketone, fasting, meal, exercise, sleep or weight entries — are not sent directly. Free-text notes attached to individual health records are not sent either.

However, because your profile can contain free-text fields such as medications, current diet and health goals, and details such as age, gender, height, weight, diabetes status, activity level and sleep information, sensitive health and wellness information can be included in an AI request. Please keep this in mind when deciding what to put in your profile.

AI-generated responses are shown to you and stored in SugaTone as Insight records associated with your account until they are deleted.

8. How we use information

• To provide the SugaTone application and its features
• To display your records, trends, analytics and personalised insights
• To operate, secure and maintain the reliability of the service
• To respond to support, privacy and account requests
• To comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your health and wellness information for advertising, advertising profiling, data brokerage, unrelated marketing, or for creditworthiness, insurance or employment decisions. We do not sell personal information and we do not sell health information.

9. Advertising and tracking

The SugaTone application does not include advertisements, advertising SDKs, behavioural advertising, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, session-recording tools, marketing trackers or attribution SDKs. This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Our platform provider may keep its own operational or server logs as part of running the infrastructure; that logging is controlled by the provider rather than by SugaTone.

10. Storage and service providers

SugaTone uses Base44 as its backend and platform provider. Your account, profile and health and wellness information are stored remotely using Base44-managed services, which also provide authentication, backend functions and the AI integration layer.

We may also use other service providers where necessary to operate the service. Service providers process information on our behalf in order to deliver the service, and we do not authorise our service providers to sell your personal information on our behalf. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or where you direct or consent to it.

11. Security

Information is transmitted between the application and the backend over HTTPS/TLS. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, to meet legitimate operational requirements, and to comply with applicable law. This is subject to your deletion rights described below and to the retention practices of our service providers, including backup and log retention that is under their control. We are not able to guarantee the timing of deletion from provider backups.

13. Deleting your data

You can delete individual entries in the main health-data categories from within the app. The app also provides a "Delete all my health data" option, which attempts immediate deletion of your glucose readings, ketone readings, fasting records, meals, sleep records, exercise records, weight records, hydration records and AI Insight records.

Deleting your health data does not delete your account, and your profile information remains until you delete the account itself.

Users can delete their account and associated personal information through the application. In Settings, go to Data & Account, choose Delete account, confirm the irreversible warning and type DELETE to confirm. This removes your profile, your glucose, ketone, fasting, meal, exercise, sleep, weight and hydration records, your stored AI Insight records, and your SugaTone account itself.

If you need help with a deletion request, or if deletion cannot be completed normally, you can contact SugaTone Support at biodun.salami@gmail.com. We action verified deletion requests within a reasonable period, subject to information we are required to retain by law and to service-provider backup and log practices, whose timing we cannot guarantee.

14. Your choices and rights

You choose what to record in SugaTone, and you can review, edit or remove entries within the application at any time. You can also stop using the service at any time.

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide additional rights, such as rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to complain to a privacy regulator. You can exercise these rights, or ask a question, by contacting us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

15. Children's privacy

SugaTone is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. If you believe someone under 18 has provided information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.

16. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. Where this happens, information may be subject to the laws of those countries. We take steps intended to ensure information continues to be handled in line with this policy.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
